Products we've tried:

Acid Mantle (otc): (**** We really like this for Ethan's diaper area, but it doesn't work for his whole body.  It cuts down on fungal infections by lowering his skin pH.  We use this when we are having yeast issues.  Be careful, it may sting.

Amlactin AP (otc): (*)  This did absolutely nothing for Ethan's skin.  We used it for over a month with no results.

Apricot Scrub (otc) ~~Generic Available~~ (****): St. Ives makes a version & Walmart has a generic that we like just as well.  This works wonderfully for tough skin buildup.

Aquaphor Baby Wash (otc): (****) Works nicely as wash/shampoo.  Suds up nicely.  You can even use it to make (expensive) bubble bath!

Aquaphor Original (otc): (***)  Softens skin very nicely & protects well.

Aquaphor Healing (otc): (****)  The healing/baby version makes Ethan's skin even softer than the original formulation.

Aveeno Baby Lotion 24 hr (otc): (***)  This works fairly well--especially on a really itchy day.  We sometimes apply it between lotion-ups.

Aveeno Oatmeal Bath (otc): (**)  ~~Alternative: make your own... this worked BETTER for us!~~  Great for itching!  Caution: it will make a messy bathtub.

California Baby Conditioner (otc): (*)  Ethan acted like this stung.  The scent was pleasant.

Cetaphil Lotion (otc): (**) About like applying nothing;)

Cetaphil Bar Soap (otc): (**)  Scent was overpowering for mom!  Ick!

Cetaphil Wash (otc): (***)  Not as sudsy as Aquaphor Baby Wash.

Clinique Bar Soap (otc):  (**)  Can't use often because it is too drying.  Mom LOVES it for her eczema/sensitive skin though!

Clinique Body Butter (otc): (**)  About like applying nothing;)  Worked well for mom's skin though.

Clinique Yellow Lotion (otc): (**)  About like applying nothing;)  Worked well for mom's skin though.

Cutemol (otc): (*)  Didn't really work for Ethan.  I've heard it helps others though.

Dermal Therapy (otc) (*):  No help for us, but many of Ethan's buddies SWEAR by this stuff.

Dr. Brommer's Baby Wash (otc) (**):  We liked this to use on occasion in the summer months of Ethan's first year.  Too drying to use everyday.

Enfamil Poly-Vi-Sol liquid vitamin (otc) (****I strongly recommend these vitamins.  I have seen an improvement in Ethan's skin since we have begun to use them.

Epilyt (otc) (*): No help for us, but we know it helps others tremendously.

Eucerin (otc)(****):  This works great underneath Aquaphor Healing.  It moisturizes & the AH seals it in.  ~~Generic Available: not as good in our opinion (thinner)~~~

Glycerin (***):  We like to put glycerin in the wipes warmer with cloth wipes.

Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo 2 in 1: (***)  We used this once a week as an infant.  It dried Ethan's scalp out if we used it more than that.  We used it to cut down on the odor that the scaling on his scalp creates.  (note: in winter we weren't able to use this)

Lubriderm FF (otc): (**)  About like applying nothing;)  Worked well for mom's skin though.

Mimyx Cream (Rx) (**** This is a miracle cream for Ethan!!!  I cannot sing its praises enough!  Since we've been using it, Ethan no longer has ridging in his flexures & his skin is much softer, less thick, and less itchy!  All I can say is wow... how would we live without this product???

Olive Oil (otc) (** Not much of a help for Ethan.

Omega 3 Fish Oil supplement (otc) (****I took this while breastfeeding & saw an improvement in my skin as well as Ethan's.  I've heard that there is a liquid form for children & will look into it & report back.

Puralube (**** Initially, we used this eye ointment every 2 hours around the clock.  One of Ethan's eyelids is especially droopy & doesn't close well.  We still use this frequently throughout the day, but don't use it at night anymore (just right before bedtime)  This product is cheaper than lacrilube & contains the same ingredients.

Shea Butter (100%) (****) Karite-One by Mode de Vie is our favorite brand.

Simple Green Lemon (****) We use this to wash our floors.  Simple Green is the only thing we've found that *might* get puralube out of clothes... sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but at least it does part of the time!

Sween 24 (****) Our absolute favorite lotion for daytime.  It isn't greasy, but makes Ethan's skin the softest of anything we have ever used.  It also stays put longer.  Another good thing: doesn't seem to ruin clothing as much.

TMC (Rx) (****) Terrific anti-itch, only to be used during very itchy periods (not an every day thing).

Vaseline Intensive Care FF  ~~Generic Available~~(**This did very little for Ethan.

Vanicream (** This did very little for Ethan.

Vitamin E liquid (otc) (**): This did very little for Ethan.

Vitamin E supplement (otc) (****) I took this while breastfeeding & noticed a great improvement in my skin as well as Ethan's (I would notice when I'd miss a day).  I'm not sure if there is a liquid or chewable available, but am looking into it.
